Last Sunday, the MTV Music Awards ( VMA) ceremony was held in Los Angels. Starlets, successful singers, reality TV personalities and even “pop” designers gather to reward the most influential artists of the generation (as much because of their presence in the tabloids as in the Forbes or Maxim rankings) with awards in increasingly original categories. Made legendary by the Madonna-Britney kiss, Miley Cyrus’ wiggle around a pole dance bar or Kayne West’s impromptu bursts onto the stage, the watchword of this ceremony seems to be “fun”. Don’t think about anything, just enjoy the moment – a kind of glitter-filled “Carpe Diem”, where fabric is preferred when it’s absent.
Several stars gave us the opportunity to review the season’s trends before the start of the new school year.
American singer Taylor Swift, known for her daring take on Apple, sported an Ashish ensemble. Composed of a cropped top and high-waisted pants, the young singer compiled the exuberance of the night’s sequins in a modern-cut ensemble.

Kim Kardashian, loyal to her friend Olivier Rousteing, wore a long dress in khaki tones, signed Balmain. A dress in the spirit of the ’70s, with a lace-up neckline characteristic of the decade and hits of the fall. Kayne West accompanied his “very” pregnant girlfriend, also in Balmain.
Cara Delevigne, fashion’s funniest top/actress, wore a fringed, disco-style dress, forged with stars, by Heidi Slimane. Sequins and bangs, a daring combination.
Pharrel Williams, G-star Raw ambassador, wore a total jeans look. Always effective! Straight cut, rolled up, the singer had a rebellious, Marlon Brando look.
Finally, let’s stay in the Seventies spirit with Haillee Steinfeld’s immaculate jumpsuit by Stella McCartney. A jumpsuit with mid-ankle flare pants. A cut reissued by denim brands, not necessarily easy to wear, but very sharp.
Summer evenings, evenings marked by a verve of sequins that ring in the end of 70s disco. Few accessories, hair plated or tied up, and black liner to give a 2015 note to these looks.
Of course, the galactic Barbarella look of Miley Cyrus, who hosted the evening, was the talk of social networks.
