Since the arrival of John Galliano, Maison Margiela has continued to evolve with each passing season. Although it is not the English designer who signs the men’s collection, he nonetheless infuses it with his creativity.
The Margiela man takes to the catwalk in a hangar in the 18th arrondissement, wearing a black suit and long frock coat with satin collar. A wardrobe where cut is everything. The twisted, offbeat fashion that has long been the label’s hallmark is less in the spotlight. Only a few tank tops in painted latex and a pair of open pants juxtaposed with another bring a touch of whimsy to this long, architectural silhouette. Silver jeans, a jacket that’s long in front and short in back, and T-shirts with cut-off sleeves are the other key pieces for summer 2016.
