Sensuality and femininity under control at Jason Wu, who for his eponymous line (he’s also the high-profile artistic director of Hugo Boss’ Boss line), is advocating a certain simplicity in cuts for next winter. A long silhouette, with calf-length skirts and dresses and belted waists. Olive green, black, gray and ivory are the dominant hues in this streamlined collection. Stiff materials, for straight dresses slit to the thigh, contrast with more fluid ones for silk blouses with lavallière collars or more sensual dresses with unveiled backs and bare shoulders. The golden heels of ankle boots and pumps added a touch of sparkle to this highly conventional show. Of particular note: luxurious materials, detachable fur and a sleeveless dress in matte crocodile with impeccable fall!
