The restaurant ” Show devant “invited us to its “cooking show à 4 mains” event. ” Show devant ” is a restaurant on the outskirts of Villejuif with an innovative concept: combining the simplicity of bistro cuisine with the quality of its products.
This modern loft-style establishment, which mixes antique furniture with industrial-influenced pieces, is bathed in natural light thanks to its large bay windows.
“Show devant” offers warm, generous cuisine in the image of its chef Olivier Chaput and his team. During the meal, the chef was on hand to offer advice and share his knowledge. The dishes are seasonal, with produce selected from the markets. During the 4-hands cooking show, held every last Wednesday of the month, chef Olivier Chaput calls on his chef friends to create ephemeral menus. This week it was his friend Fabrice Gass, who concocted a menu between land and sea.
The cellar is impressive, and is located at the top of the mezzanine. All wines are chosen by coup de coeur, i.e. they are selected on taste and not the label. Julien Faday, a wine specialist, will suggest wines that are pleasant on the palate and well-suited to your dishes.
We love this place, a sort of hybrid between a canteen and a culinary workshop. We’ll be delighted to go back and sample the simple yet gourmet cuisine, as well as the unmissable market slate, which changes daily according to the market and the seasons.
