Located just a few kilometers from Disneyland Paris, the Dream Castle and Magic Circus hotels, both belonging to the Vienna International group, opened their doors to us. So we were able to discover the magical atmosphere that reigns in these establishments.
The Dream Castle
Formerly known as the Movenpick Dream Castle Hotel Paris, this four-star hotel was inaugurated on July 14, 2004 in Marne-la-Vallée.
Architecturally, the Dream Castle, with its air of Potsdam Castle, immediately recalls the era of Old Europe and, more specifically, of the Musketeers: particularly in terms of decoration, where statues, knights in armor and banners, among others, can be found.
Between modernity and medieval touches, a formal garden frames the hotel, offering a breathtaking view of the small lake.
The hotel has 397 rooms, including suites. Suites are particularly well-suited to families, offering ample space and comfort: 60m2 with two rooms, each with a double bed, for the Baron von Munchhausen suites, for example.
The Royal Suite, meanwhile, measures around 200m2 and includes a lounge that can accommodate at least seven people, as well as two suites. The children’s rooms are decorated with chivalric themes, in keeping with the Dream Castle’s medieval ambience.
The hotel has a bar called Excalibur, still in the style of the Middle Ages, open every day until midnight in summer. With seating for 90 inside, 10 at the bar and 50 outside, the bar offers an à la carte lunch every day from 11am to 11pm. You can then sample the magic potions meticulously concocted by the head bartender, while enjoying the view over the hotel gardens.
The Sanssouci restaurant, named after King Frederick II of Prussia’s Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam, is the main breakfast venue. Served as a buffet, a wide choice of hot and cold dishes and pastries are available every day from 7am to 11am. It seats 272.
For dinner, on the other hand, you’ll have to head to the Musketeers restaurant, which seats 198 inside plus 60 outside. The latter offers a wide range of French and international specialties in buffet style, available from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
Conferences and banquets can also be held here, thanks in particular to the nine function rooms that can be privatized and accessed via the garden. All are equipped with top-quality technical equipment, adjusted to suit your requirements.
To get back into shape, you can visit the beauty center, open until 9:45 p.m. at the latest, and discover a range of body treatments, as well as the classic mixed sauna, hammam and jacuzzi. An indoor heated swimming pool and fitness room are also available to residents.
The Magic Circus
Not far from the Dream Castle, accessible via its garden in just 10 minutes, is the Magic Circus, which opened in May 2003.
Like the Dream Castle, the former Hotel Holiday Inn Disneyland owes its architecture to a theme also present throughout the establishment: the circus. It was built on the model of the French Manoirs in the Marne region.
As soon as you enter the lobby, the magic happens: you’re surrounded by a sumptuous merry-go-round for children, as well as numerous lithographs, illustrations and sculptures related to the circus. The bright palette of red and gold, the colors of the famous big top, is surprising and immediately brings cheerfulness to the place.
The Magic Circus has 396 rooms and suites, including connecting family rooms and a suite specially designed for children: double beds accompanied by elegant bunk beds, but still festive.
Crossing the hall, you come to the Bar des Artistes, offering a more than pleasant setting, a fairly classic wine and spirits list, but for more originality, you’ll have to opt for the cocktails.
Just behind it is the 450-seat L’Etoile restaurant, with 80 outdoor seats. It offers traditional seasonal cuisine, in buffet form for breakfast or dinner. For children, a specially designed menu is available, with the added bonus of a visit from the mascots at breakfast. On the wine list, there’s plenty to choose from: you can discover and taste French and Austrian references.
Magic Beauty opened its doors at the end of 2011. It offers all the classic body treatments and massages, as well as fish pedicures, which remove dead skin cells from the feet using Garra Rufa, small fish.
The Dream Castle and Magic Circus hotels reflect the family atmosphere extremely well. They are children’s kingdoms that extend the magic of Disneyland Paris, in their own way and by their location.
You can reach these hotels by shuttle bus from the Marne-la-Vallée train station, and Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport is only 30 minutes away by regular shuttle bus.
