Carven’s stylish heroes…Who are the men Guillaume Henry meets every day on his way to Carven? Students, waiters, workers… The designer observes them, notes their allure, their style, and comes up with something different… Men’s basics are revisited with a twist. Parkas and trench coats are multi-pocketed, while suits feature zipped jackets and jogging bottoms. Streetwear and sportswear are of course also present, through the multiple proposals of bombers and sweatshirts, but also through rugby polo shirts that become three-tone shirts, or soccer T-shirt logos that are transformed into playful prints, like the Carven name embroidered on the collar. As in a Ken Loach film, from which Guillaume Henry drew his inspiration, Carven’s heroes seem to move seamlessly from the street to the studio. But always with style.
