At a time when fashion collaborations are generally short-lived, G-Star is celebrating ten years of its fruitful adventure with Australian designer Marc Newson. Since 2004, these capsule collections have been renowned for their architectural cuts, streetwear references and impeccable craftsmanship. This is once again the case with this anniversary collection, which offers everything G-Star RAW X Marc Newson aficionados are looking for – while also reserving a few surprises.
The star piece of this fall/winter 2014 collection is the Anniversary Bomber Jacket. This reversible bomber jacket is adorned with patches representing an entire decade of patterns. Turned inside out, the jacket features an all-black, quilted section, offering a minimalist alternative to the product.

This premium capsule collection is complemented by a selection of Japanese selvedge denims. Newson also offered his version of the traditional 5-pocket jean, the 5-Pocket Denim Slim, with large back pockets and front pockets adorned with rivets. Made from high-quality selvedge denim, woven in traditional looms, the piece is available in indigo blue and mottled gray.
Premium cotton is, as ever, an essential part of the collection. The Seven Day Suit is another important concept in the collection. Designed to be treated like denim, these premium wool pieces require no dry-cleaning or ironing. The suit, which includes a deconstructed 5-pocket slim blazer, is as easy to wear with sneakers as with dress shoes, making it suitable for any occasion, any day of the week.
