For the seventh year running, Hôtel Le Meurice presents the Prix Meurice for contemporary art, and is more committed than ever to championing young artists.

On June 5, the members of the Jury for the Meurice Prize for Contemporary Art met behind closed doors.

  • Colette Barbier, Director of the Ricard Corporate Foundation;
  • Neïl Beloufa, Artist and 2013/2014 Winner;
  • Nicolas Bourriaud, Director of the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris ;
  • Philippe Dagen, Writer and Professor at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne ;
  • Jean de Loisy, President of the Palais de Tokyo ;
  • Jennifer Flay, Director of FIAC ;
  • Marta Gili, Director of the Jeu de Paume ;
  • Henri Loyrette, Conseiller d’État ;
  • Maryvonne Pinault, Collector ;

Le Meurice have shortlisted 6 artists and their galleries:

  • Hicham Berrada – Galerie Kamel Mennour
    “Natural Process Activation #4 – Boom”, residency project with public presentation of photographs and video in Marrakech
  • Mark Geffriaud – Galerie gb agency
    “Sketches”, exhibition of film and sculpture
  • Eloise Hawser – Galerie Balice Hertling
    “Expanded Camera”, exhibition project for an installation in New York
  • Voluspa Jarpa – Galerie mor.charpentier
    “En nuestra pequeña región de por aca”, exhibition project for a monumental installation in Bogota
  • Charlotte Moth – Galerie Marcelle Alix
    “What appears stable is forever in flux”, a film, book and sculptural installation production project in Toronto
  • Enrique Ramírez – Galerie Michel Rein Paris/Brussels
    “El Pais de Jaula”, exhibition project for an installation in Santiago de Chile and Paris

On Thursday, October 9, 2014, the Jury will select the winners, the artist and his gallery, who will be jointly awarded the Meurice Prize for Contemporary Art: €10,000 to the artist and €10,000 to his gallery, for the realization of his project abroad.
The exhibition of the 6 finalists will be open to the public from October 10 to 26, 2014.
