A few days ago, we tested the spa at the Mandarin Oriental, a prestigious venue for a moment of absolute relaxation.
A temple to well-being and relaxation, the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Paris offers a holistic experience designed to harmonize body and mind in a space of almost 900 m², making it one of the largest hotel Spas in the capital. An approach focused more on technique and know-how than on products.
The entrance to this haven of peace was designed by Sybille de Margerie as a large pearly sphere, inviting you to relax right from the start. The white and carmine glass mosaic floor is studded with silver-leaf butterflies. The exterior invites itself inside, with this haute-couture wall developed over two heights, composed of stylized flowers like a work of Origami.

A veritable sanctuary of soothing, revitalizing experiences, the Spa stretches over two floors and includes seven private Spa suites, three of which are for two people. And that’s where the difference with other spas lies: the private, reserved feel that makes this an intimate moment. Available in shades of amaranth, taupe and silver, the Spa suites each feature a shower-hammam and, for the most spacious, a balneotherapy bathtub, offering warm comfort in total intimacy. They reflect Mandarin Oriental’s unique expertise in well-being and hydrotherapy.
Developed in collaboration with specialists in traditional Chinese medicine and experts in aromatherapy, Mandarin Oriental’s “Signature” treatments draw on oriental philosophy, while combining the relaxing effects of a body massage with the benefits of essential oils prepared exclusively for Mandarin Oriental. Signature” treatments have been developed in collaboration with English brand Aromatherapy Associates. Each product has been created according to the oriental principles of the five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
Each session begins with a personalized interview with a spa therapist to assess the guest’s general condition, define the most appropriate treatment program and select the right essential oils.
Among the various treatments with evocative names is Hu-Tieh Quan (Springtime of the Butterfly), which combines a warming ginger, invigorating mandarin and sacred incense bath, a nourishing and soothing body wrap and a relaxing massage (2h50). This treatment protocol has been created exclusively for Paris.
We chose Calm Mind, a relaxing treatment for the upper body. Accompanied by Aroma Associates products and Mandarin Awaken treatments. You’ll leave feeling regenerated.
To extend the benefits of the treatments at home, nutritional advice and physical exercise are also provided.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Paris has added a new dimension to its offering, inviting the famous Guerlain brand to create an exclusive range of exceptional facial treatments.

Developed specifically and jointly, the exclusive Orchidée Impériale global anti-aging treatment protocols are perfectly in tune with the Mandarin Oriental spa philosophy, with each expertise offering unique know-how in beauty and well-being.
On the Spa’s second floor, a fully-equipped 119m2 fitness center overlooks the pool. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a morning jog in the Jardin des Tuileries, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris.
The Spa also offers yoga sessions.
These treatments are part of the new Oriental Wellness offer. Once the treatments are over, the experience continues at Bar 8 for lunch on the terrace or indoors. Thierry Marx’s specialties include Thai beef salad and Dim Sun, as well as fabulous pastries by pastry chef Pierre Mathieu.
