Wednesday December 4 saw the debut show of As I Am, a brand-new ready-to-wear label. Young and fresh, the collection was presented at the Nikki Diana Marquardt gallery in Paris.
Spearheaded by artistic director Tamara Marthe (aka Shy’m, it should be noted!) and designer Ninon Palisse, this first collection combines their know-how and creativity to offer original, contemporary and sophisticated pieces dedicated to a demanding and discerning woman.
Attention is paid to detail, with beautiful finishes, sophisticated cuts and top-of-the-range manufacturing. Prints and colors are bright and acidic, with a playful, arty feel. The materials used are noble: silk, leather, lamé, cotton and viscose combine for sensual, contemporary garments.
With this freshness, spontaneity and casualness, As I Am has established itself as an art of living, a luxurious and unconventional fashion.
