“The breath of a dreamlike journey” SPRING-SUMMER 2014 COLLECTION
Ken Okada never ceases to embark on wonderful journeys.
Between the Paris ballet and the Japanese cherry blossom, she navigates from one universe to another, always combining subtlety, chic and modernity.
True to form, her musketeer cuffs and
front-back shirts remain timeless pieces that she explores with new inspirations. Somewhere between a dance tutu and the lightness of the wind, Ken Okada’s collection for Spring/Summer
2014 is dynamic, eventful yet serene and joyful, with a play on asymmetry and deconstruction/reconstruction.
The fluidity of cotton tulle gives rise to new movements, an unrestrained quality that contrasts with the structured image of the shirt. The shirt itself transforms. It stretches, becomes vaporous, asserts itself in a poetic and trendy way in 2014, while retaining the chic and modern spirit of Ken
Okada.
For this voyage, the designer wanted to bring out subtle colors full of Japanese softness and spring spirit, playing on transparency and the fusion of colors and materials. Multiple superimpositions, and shirts to be worn in all directions according to mood and personality. 1=2: One shirt can hide another, and 2=3: with two shirts, you can make a third!
The designer wants to amuse women, by creating models that can be adapted to suit every mood.
This collection is more than ever Ken Okada’s colorful new breath.
