Christophe Guillarmé, who presented his Spring-Summer 2014 collection “Lady Garage” on Wednesday September 25 at Renault République as part of the Fédération de la Couture et du Prêt à Porter’s Paris Fashion Week Calendar.

Christophe Guillarmé’s inspiration for this Spring-Summer 2014 collection travels from old Hollywood glamour to that of the post-war New York socialite scene.
The bottoms of the dresses flare out into corollas to reinterpret the new look. A 50’s ambiance revisited in the style of the Mad Men series, popular with socialites between Madison and Park Avenue such as Doris Duke or Barbara Hutton, who is said to have met British prima ballerina Lady Margot Fonteyn at the end of a rehearsal, still in her tutu…
An eccentric, no-holds-barred look with attitude and gait, where duchesse satin rubs shoulders with the omnipresent lace, either mordorée or applied with guipure, cross-stitch… Chantilly tulle and second-skin jersey complete the materials.
For this golden age of couture, what could be more natural than to honor gold, often married to immaculate white, or champagne and beige? Shades that bring the collection to life include fuchsia pink, coral and lipstick red. Black remains for dramatic sheaths with a play of transparency.
A reminiscence of Breakfast at Tiffany’s for a contemporary, sleek bling style.
