A new open-fit ANC reference for a lightweight sound experience and comfort
In 2019, Huawei introduced the world’s first open-fit ANC TWS ANC earphones, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 3, finally enabling users to enjoy open-fit earphones while benefiting from immersive ANC sound quality. After two years of R&D, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 were launched with the new open-fit earphone technology featuring ANC 2.0, which enhances noise reduction and guarantees a maximum listening experience.
The new HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 feature new dual-microphone noise reduction technology for enhanced performance. They are the first open earphones on the market to use dual-microphone noise reduction technology. The microphones pick up ambient noise with far greater precision, achieving the best levels on the market.
To enhance the effectiveness of noise reduction in different wearing scenarios, HUAWEI’s FreeBuds 4 use AEM (Adaptive Ear Matching) noise reduction technology, and are the first open earphones on the market to do so. When the noise reduction function is activated, the earphones automatically detect the shape of the user’s ear and determine the optimum noise reduction configuration for each user, delivering the most comfortable noise reduction experience.
Frequency response up to 40 kHz for even more immersive listening
The HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 feature a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) composite diaphragm that supports a maximum frequency range of 40 kHz, for high-resolution sound quality. With no major loss of quality, treble is richer and more powerful.
What’s more, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 are equipped with 14.3 mm dynamic loudspeakers, to transmit bass more intensely and impressively.
In terms of bass performance, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 adopt a bass enhancement system, a low-frequency amplifier and a recently updated motherboard, to form an independent closed sound cavity. Compared with the FreeBuds 3, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 significantly increase airtightness and acoustic pressure, and the volume of the low-frequency amplifier has been increased by 15%, enabling a more intense resonance effect from the air and diaphragm.
The HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 are the first open earphones to feature Adaptive Ear Matching (AEM) technology. By automatically detecting the shape of the user’s ear as well as the situation, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 are able to intelligently optimize the audio effect, enabling the user to achieve consistent, high-resolution sound quality, whatever the situation[2].
With ANC deactivated, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 provide 4 hours of continuous music playback and 22 hours with the charging case. With ANC enabled, they provide 2.5 hours of continuous music playback. What’s more, its cutting-edge fast-charge technology allows users to enjoy 2.5 hours of sound experience after 15 minutes of charging, so there’s no need to worry about the battery.
An « aerial » structure: ultimate listening comfort in a sophisticated featherweight design
Comfort and design are the key to a successful user experience. Compared with the HUAWEI FreeBuds 3, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 have been redesigned, with optimizations to 13 formats, reducing their size and therefore their weight. Weight comes to just 4.1 g[3] per earphone. The HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 also feature a threefold improvement in overall curvature, for optimum fit. This set of optimizations not only makes them more comfortable to wear, ensuring greater rigidity, but also enhances the performance of the ANC technology from which the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 benefit.
The HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 charging unit measures just 21.2 mm and weighs just 38 g. This makes it 6.3% smaller and 20.8% lighter than its predecessor. Completely round with sleek finishes, the case boasts a sleek, sophisticated look. The HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 is available in Ceramic White and Silver Frost.
Intelligent audio connectivity
Leveraging Huawei’s ecosystem of « all-scenario » devices, as well as expertise gathered in the field of wireless connectivity, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 feature a variety of connection functions, including proximity pairing, pairing via cloud information sharing, two-device connection[4] and Audio Connectivity Center[5]. The headphones can connect to any device running the EMUI update, from smartphones to Huawei tablets and PCs.
Connecting two devices is supported by HUAWEI FreeBuds 4. Whether it’s a smartphone, tablet, PC, connected watch or Huawei display, or any other connected device running Android, iOS or Windows, two devices can be connected simultaneously to the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4. As a result, users can listen to their favorite music or watch their favorite video without missing a single call. In the event of an incoming call, the song or video is paused, and the call can be answered immediately.
