La Maison du Chocolat Builds Its Christmas Around a Dark Chocolate Chandelier

Shoppers will have to wait until November 3rd to discover in boutique the most spectacular piece of La Maison du Chocolat’s 2026 holiday collection. Named Vertiges, this collection imagined by pastry chef Nicolas Cloiseau takes as its starting point an object as improbable as it is ambitious: a chandelier made entirely of dark chocolate.

This artistic piece, simply called the ‘lustre Vertiges,’ consists of an ornate dome pierced with 3,000 perforations, adorned with 96 lozenges and 24 strands of 44 chocolate beads mounted on wires, all highlighted with 24-karat gold leaf. Made entirely by hand in a limited edition, it comes in a single size of 4.7 kilograms and 80 centimeters in height, offered at 3,500 euros per piece — an object conceived more as a table installation than as a confection in the strict sense.

The rest of the collection declines this same sculptural vein at more accessible scales. The signature Vertiges Yule log echoes, seen from below, the graphic lines of the chandelier: beneath its precious silhouette hide more classic seasonal flavors, where the intensity of chocolate meets the freshness of vanilla and the indulgence of caramel, all enhanced with a spiced shortbread. Set on a custom-shaped dark chocolate base, it is offered at 130 euros for eight to ten people, in a limited series, available in boutique and online from November 3rd.

The collection continues with an oversized praline bite — an XXL almond-hazelnut praline with Christmas spices, coated in crêpe dentelle and chocolate decorations, sold at 36 euros for a 145-gram piece — as well as an advent calendar illustrated by the duo Alex & Marine, made up of 24 windows blending the house’s iconic pralines with new creations, available from October 27th at 69 euros.

The Vertiges gift boxes complete the range, dressed in an illustration signed Alex & Marine on an empire-green background dotted with mandarin flecks, depicting a Parisian interior with gilded perspectives. Inside, the house’s classics sit alongside two new creations designed for the occasion: a single-origin Vietnam dark ganache and an orange praline with Christmas spices, available in three formats ranging from 39.50 to 179 euros.

By betting on an exceptional object to embody its holiday collection, La Maison du Chocolat revives a well-established tradition among the great French confectionery houses: turning chocolate into a material in its own right, capable of rivaling, for the span of a season, crystal or silverware on the Christmas table.
