Lindberg turns 40 without ever using a single screw

For forty years, Lindberg has built its reputation on a constraint it imposed on itself: never using screws or rivets. The Danish brand’s anniversary capsule collection celebrates not only its emblematic models, but the engineering discipline that made them possible.

Some brand anniversaries settle for republishing a logo in a different shade. Lindberg’s takes another direction: to mark its 40th anniversary, the Danish house unveils a capsule collection that pays tribute to the emblematic models that shaped its identity, while reinterpreting them in a resolutely contemporary spirit. The choice is not one of pure nostalgia, but of technical continuity.

For what has set Lindberg apart for four decades, more than its minimalist aesthetic, is a demand for engineering: frames with no screws or rivets, achieved through mastery of ultralight titanium. This anniversary collection puts precisely this heritage in the spotlight through three new titanium rim frames, named Jackie, Harley and Max, which pair the brand’s minimalist signature with acetate inserts of sculptural lines, a more colourful and graphic counterpoint to titanium’s usual sobriety.

The collection does not merely revisit the existing: it also introduces an entirely new design, named spirit titanium, presented as the brand’s first double-bridge rimless frame, available in both optical and sun versions. This double-bridge format, unprecedented in Lindberg’s design vocabulary, expands a language built until now almost exclusively around clean lines and rimless frames.

For four decades, Lindberg has established itself as a benchmark in high-end eyewear precisely through this technical approach: frames with no screws or rivets, an innovation rooted in materials rather than purely in aesthetics, and a craftsmanship demand claimed as a selling point in its own right. In a sector where innovation is often limited to new shades or new licensing partnerships, this insistence on construction itself remains a deliberately niche positioning.

This anniversary collection thus illustrates what a coherent brand philosophy could look like over forty years: pushing the limits of design not by multiplying collaborations or decorative capsule collections, but by continuing to question how a frame can hold on a face. Between tribute and innovation, Lindberg chooses to celebrate its anniversary by asking, once again, the same question that founded the brand in the first place: how to go further without adding a single part.
