Franck Sorbier, Spring-Summer 14.

For this new Spring-Summer 2014 couture collection, the French designer invited us to come and discover his creations at the Garde Républicaine’s Battesti armory in Paris.

And so begins a journey through the world of cultures…
The curtain opens to reveal a giant wicker automaton, articulated and maneuvered by the L’homme Debout company and accompanied by New Zealand singer Kimbra, who opens Franck Sorbier‘s wonderful worlds.

Franck Sorbier’s different visions of cultures follow on from one another.
“Jolies pépées canailles” is a world where black and white jacquard is sovereign, declined, on flared or gathered skirts.
“Ménagère Psycho-psyché” is the world of colors and patterns, directly inspired by the 70’s.
The “Year of the Horse” refers to the Chinese New Year, a blend of colors emblematic of Asian countries…

To finish off “Russia of Tales”, the Franck Sorbier Woman takes on the body of a revisited Russian bride, entirely embroidered in lace and tulle, sublimely adorned, and parading before our admiring eyes.

The designer invited us to cross worlds in a show where Franck Sorbier’s creativity and artistry are pushed to the limit.
