Christophe Lemaire unveiled his latest vision of the Hermès woman…After 4 years of loyal service, Christophe Lemaire unveiled his latest vision of the Hermès woman as Artistic Director on the last day of collections. And the heat was on from the very first moments. A sandy catwalk and orange light evoke an African desert getaway. White, ecru and greige open the show for comfortable, enveloping ensembles, some in python and snakeskin, featuring pleated skirts, wide jackets, ample pants, slightly slit skirts and shirts with rolled-up sleeves. Comfort is omnipresent, perceptible in the volumes and lightness of the impeccably-fitted fabrics. A long, sleeveless cashmere coat with scarf collar will warm up chilly evenings in the Sahara. Summer leather is treated in crocodile for Bermuda shorts, mixed with knitwear for a sweater, and suede for a sweatshirt. Prints make a few appearances in strong hues for chasuble dresses tied at the waist with a wide belt. Clothes play a protective role, draped around the neck. True to his image, Christophe Lemaire leaves the company with elegance and gentleness, the better to devote himself to developing his eponymous brand.
