Shiseido has just teamed up with the famous Fouquet’s Barrière hotel to offer an innovative relaxation method called the Qi Method.
What is Qi, you may ask? Well, it’s quite simply the vital energy rooted in each and every one of us, which is often completely absorbed and damaged by the tensions of our busy, high-pressure lives.
The Shiseido Qi Method allows our vital energy to resurface through unique relaxation using Shiatsu massage techniques. Massages at points of tension will restore all the energy lost through stress.
After this traditional massage, you’ll feel as refreshed as after 10 hours’ sleep. The skin seems firmer, the complexion is luminous, full of energy, the body is completely relaxed and stress has disappeared.

The U Spa now offers a wide range of Shiseido treatments for both body and face. On-site facilities include a sauna, an aquatic course (which I can’t wait to try out!), two hammams and even a special balneotherapy treatment cabin. But I’ll tell you all about it in more detail in a later article.
What’s really pleasing on arrival at U Spa is the quality of the welcome you receive: you’re pampered. You are immediately offered a drink (different fresh fruit juices, tea, the choice is very complete) and a small bowl of red fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries…). It’s very pleasant before starting a treatment to be able to relax while filling up on vitamins.

As for the Shiseido treatment, it takes place in a dimly lit room and the atmosphere is immediately Zen-like.
The decor is sober and relaxing, with an orchid and small candles, the room is pleasant. What’s more, the music plunges you straight into Asia, a guaranteed change of scenery.
Sarah, who looked after me during the treatment, really took the time to tell me all about the Shiseido products and the massage techniques she was going to use. I’m a very curious person, so I was delighted! By the way, if you’re looking for a good masseuse, I’d recommend Sarah: she’s top-notch!
The products used for the treatment have a truly delicious fragrance: very fine, very light, as always from Shiseido, and perfect for when you want to put on your usual perfume afterwards. Texture-wise, the products are unctuous and quickly absorbed, with no sticky effect. The skin is soft because it’s well moisturized, like a baby’s skin.
If you haven’t yet discovered the U Spa at Fouquet’s, now’s the time to relax and recharge your batteries before heading off on vacation.
