Milan opens the festivities! Italian menswear kicks off with a bang with the 20th anniversary of DSquared2. The Canadian twins celebrate two decades of creation, with pomp and show in the heart of a hangar in one of the city’s newly rehabilitated districts. An urban, elegant collection, with a wide range of jackets, coats, down jackets and pea coats, perfectly cut and made from luxurious materials. The emblematic pieces and materials that have made the label so successful are featured, with numerous references to their origins. Jeans and leather are adorned with details, bangs and patterns. The silhouette is long and lean, with slim-fitting pants and a small cuff above the ankle. Heads warmed by a chapka or fur cap reinforced the wintry feel that reigned on the catwalk. After casual wear, it was time for evening wear, with a multitude of three-piece suits with embroidered vests or lapels. Note the touch of neon pink, which brightens up the men’s wardrobe with a tie or a sublime perfecto. Rock, funky and chic, Renzo Rosso, owner of DSquared2, can congratulate himself on having in his group a brand that combines intelligence, creativity and wearability. The show closed with a musical turn by Mary J. Blige, followed by Dean and Dan Caten.
