New York Fashion Week came to a close with the Michael Kors show, which perfectly summed up the tone of the season. Large coats, peacoats and capes in materials borrowed from the men’s wardrobe took over the collection. A cardigan has fur pockets, a sweater is adorned with feathers. Paisley motifs are scattered across several pieces, while the skirt suit takes on a Victorian allure. Camel and brown tones dominate through to evening sheaths, dotted with pearls on georgette or chiffon. They’d be perfect for the Oscars, which take place in Los Angeles on Sunday… Of particular note: Karlie Kloss, who closed the show in style.
