This summer, Le Manoir de Paris launches DEAD GAMES, a series of events to put your physical and psychological skills to the test.
If you’re a fan of the Walking Dead series, you’ll love playing the survivor or… the zombie!
I took part in the first day of the Dead Games and was really impressed by the setting. The action took place in the former Blanche psychiatric hospital, where you had to escape from the zombies and run from room to room at breakneck speed – it was an intense experience. The actors were top-notch, perfectly made-up as the living dead, and I really felt like I was at the heart of the TV series I love so much.
Technical tips: bring sneakers and a backpack. On site, you’ll be given bottles of water on a regular basis. Keep fit, as you’ll be running practically the whole time, with short breaks (the zombies won’t wait to devour you!).
The story behind episode 1 of Dead Games, which took place on July 15 :
“Episode I: Zombie Challenge
15 years ago, a mysterious virus appeared in a hospital near Paris, causing an uncontrollable outbreak of rabies. During three days of bloody riots, chaos reigned between patients and doctors… But no bodies were ever found. Rumor has it that the victims were transformed into cannibalistic creatures, on the lookout for new prey daring to venture into this cursed place.
The authorities hushed up the story and condemned the site. Little by little, this vast, dilapidated area fell back into oblivion… until July 15, 2015. After long months of investigation, the Manoir de Paris was authorized to re-open the doors of the “Infected Hospital”. For the first time, and for the time of an exclusive day, a few privileged visitors will be able to explore this macabre place and try to escape the abomination that lurks there.
The experience you’re about to embark on will forever strengthen the ties that bind you to your friends, and haunt your spirit for a long time to come.”
