Fashion Week is not just about shows. Each designer proves that he deserves the title of Haute Couture designer, and that he doesn’t just exist figuratively. Alexis Mabille has his own perception of fashion. Unlike his colleagues, he chose to present his creations in the form of an exhibition at the Opéra Garnier. Not famous models, but female personalities who have marked their eras and disciplines. 15 muses for 15 exceptional dresses.
He paints a portrait of women, whom he describes as able to make their creations evolve with natural charm. From Dita Von Teese to Berenice Bejo and Inga Savit, the designer unveils a panoply of outfits reflecting the very essence of these women.
The trend at Mabille is for sheaths and long dresses. The palette of tones selected by the designer oscillates between emerald green, powder pink and black, the lightness of the color crois and the strength of black. Mesh pearls and Lyon lace assert the character of his works.
Dotted with crystals, XL bows, satin and crepe, the fall-winter 2016 collection is symbolic. Alexis Mabille achieves a tour de force by focusing on the generational differences that can drive a wedge between women. He succeeds in breaking down boundaries and giving a new dimension to this collection.
Respected and adored by the crowd, these muses must appear to the world dressed in creations as surprising as any other. Every day, they carry the weight of their celebrity. The designer lightens this burden by enhancing their magnetism.
Who better than a dear friend and Haute Couture designer to sublimate you and reveal the woman you are? I can’t think of anyone.
