Haute Couture remains Stéphane Rolland’s priority. So, when he started his own brand, the emphasis was on couture collections. Ready-to-wear and accessories followed. So we’re dealing with a man who makes the prestigious his weapon, and puts the dreamy notes of the fashion world front and center. Innovative, geometric, red, with drapes that are already classic, his collections come from elsewhere…

Stéphane Rolland’s name, a promise of high-end quality, is the stuff of dreams. Partner of the Cannes Film Festival, dressing the greatest, from Beyoncé to Cheryl Cole to Queen Rania of Jordan, Stéphane Rolland has been dazzling us since 2009 with haute couture shows that defy all expectations. Spectacular dresses that seem to predict the future.

With the poise of an empress, the metallic silhouette of a statue and a kind of casualness where the train of her priestess habit becomes a shawl, the Stéphane Rolland woman takes the light like a work of art exposed to dazzled glances. These effects are made possible by a color palette somewhere between sand and caramel: natural colors revived by a bright green. A bold combination that recalls the color combinations of the 70s, from which the designer claims inspiration.

This color-block seventies trend is part of the zeitgeist. A time that Stéphane Roland surpasses with graphic silhouettes, futuristic cut-outs made of metals that gradually overflow capes and kimonos. Golden bustiers, which seem to be cast directly onto the models’ bodies, and shoulders with destructured volumes mark the designer’s love of silhouettes that unhinge the everyday. Graphic, asymmetrical, long capes, statuesque coats, pantsuits and long black crepe dresses lend dramatic accents to this science-fiction film. The long dresses, composed of metallic dressage, are the result of technological research, of fabric work that breaks with its traditional use. Cutting, sculpting, molding, welding: verbs that break with weaving, embroidery…

A green sun: this is a collection of anticipation in which the Stéphane Rolland woman will survive without losing her elegance, and lead the whirlwinds of trends with poise.
