Black and ivory are the common threads running through Bouchra Jarrar’s 11th collection, combining fluid, draped silhouettes with more structured tweed ones.Black and ivory are the common threads running through Bouchra Jarrar’s 11th collection, combining fluid, draped silhouettes with more structured tweed ones. Pieces from the urban wardrobe, such as trench coats, tuxedos, perfectos, pants and white shirts, take on couture accents. Pants are lacquered black, while a sleeveless suit zips up on the bias. The Pied de poule pattern, designed especially for the collection, lends power and elegance to short skirts and jackets. Long, asymmetrical, draped dresses with tone-on-tone embroidery are minimalist. Bouchra Jarrar’s talent for contemporary couture, designed above all to be worn.
