Some time ago, we discovered a surprising restaurant, where the concept is fun and the quality is top-notch. This article takes you to the land of French fries.
French fries are chic!
Nicolas Catania and Baptiste Saulnier, epicureans at heart but undoubtedly trend-setters, have taken the “daring” gamble of launching an upscale restaurant based around French fries.
With the advice of Anne de La Forest*, Maison F (re)gives birth to the chic and generous French fry, reworked and reinvented.
At Maison F, the choice is yours: pommes allumettes, pommes frites or pommes Pont Neuf. And every day, the restaurant offers a French fry of its own (cooked in white beef, goose fat, truffle-flavored, vegetable fries, etc.). The scores interpreted by chef Olivier Jegousse are precise and high-level. French fries come in all shapes and colors, with an inimitable taste: the best potato varieties, the most judicious cooking fats, spices – nothing is left to chance to offer customers “haute couture” fries.

The Maison F menu.
To go with them, top-quality products.
The Maison F team has taken the time to seek out small-scale producers throughout France to offer the best and make quality rhyme with modernity. All the dishes that accompany the fries are made with products from the finest artisans: An andouillette? Yes, but AAAAA from Marc Colin. A coquelet? No, a yellow farmhouse chicken from the Gers. A fine piece of beef? It comes from a small
producer, a veritable curator of exceptional breeds. As for the fish, it’s a small peach.
Entirely homemade sauces
The joy of dipping French fries in a tasty sauce is irreplaceable. Perfectionist to the core, Maison F makes it a point of honor to offer 100% homemade sauces, some of which you won’t be able to taste anywhere else in Paris.
A top-notch wine list
A short, effective wine list combining well-known and lesser-known appellations, in line with a dynamic of small winemakers: Pigeoulet des Brunier in Vaucluse, Saumur “Eolithe” Domaine de Fosse Seiche (organic). Great classics like Maranges 1er cru Bachelet-Monnot, or Laurent Combier’s Crozes-Hermitage. Not forgetting, in Bordeaux, the audacity of a little-known garage wine, Côte de bourg Clos du Piat, offering excellent value for money. In Champagne, two classic houses, Deutz and Billecart-Salmon, are joined by the unexpected Vieille vigne de Cramant grand cru extra brut from domaine Larmendier-Bernier.
Le F Bar: cocktail bar, music bar and French fries bar!
On the first floor of Maison F is F Bar, an intimate bar run by Charlie Brock, a talented 28-year-old Australian bartender who arrived from New York 4 years ago. Charlie gives free rein to his invigorating talent in a musical atmosphere featuring a host of DJs.
Charlie doesn’t like the trappings of his profession. He gets rid of them and thinks about his creations, building them methodically like an architect. Having worked in the Beef Club’s Ballroom before joining the Maison F team to create the F bar, he’s playing at dusting off the great cocktail classics that, in his opinion, the French don’t know very well. Have fun recognizing the surprising flavors of his syrups, liqueurs and juices, all homemade and used in his cocktails… And if you’re feeling a little hungry, you can enjoy plates of pata negra ham, mozzarella di buffala from Da Rosa and, of course… French fries!
Maison F: a refined, elegant and original setting
Located at 3 rue Rougemont, Paris 9ème (Grands boulevards), Maison F plays the unusual card. The place is both cozy and trendy. Nicolas and Baptiste wanted a setting to match their concept. The decor was entrusted to young architects, Cent15 architecture, who conceived the place as a departure from the classic world of catering.
Maison F shakes up the codes! Geometric tiling spreads over the herringbone parquet floor, the futuristic ceiling is made of butong, a molded, micro-perforated concrete that diffuses soft light and light colors…
On the 1st floor, the Maison F restaurant can accommodate up to 70 diners, with a welcoming, professional and impeccable service.
On the first floor, the F Bar offers a completely different atmosphere.
