An Issey Miyake fashion show is not to be missed. An established name in Japanese fashion, with names like Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo (Comme des Garçons) and, of course, Kenzo, Issey Miyake brings a poetic touch to Parisian fashion.

The Spring-Summer 2015 collection was imagined by the house’s artistic director Yusuke Takahashi while on vacation in the Pacific Islands, and it felt like the moment you stepped into the house’s Place des Vosges lair with an immaculate pontoon as catwalk that crossed the room and beyond as it reached outside.

The invitation often sets the tone for a fashion show, and this was no exception. In tones mostly in keeping with the world of the sea, the cuts of the garments made us want to take a walk on the beach, with extremely light fabrics and animal prints from the depths of the ocean, including jellyfish and a fish that doesn’t look all that nice.

Spring-Summer 2015 proved to be a great success for the designer, who undoubtedly produced one of his best men’s shows here.
