Khaosan
Inspired by the atmosphere of Bangkok’s globetrotting district, Khaosan Road combines the best of Thai cuisine with a colorful New York-style cantina. Located in the heart of South Pigalle, Khaosan Road welcomes all kinds of guests from Monday to Sunday in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
In terms of cuisine, Thai chef Pomme focuses on authentic, fragrant and explosive flavors. Here you’ll find the essentials of Thai home cooking: Thai egg rolls; coconut milk, lemongrass and chicken soup; chicken curry panang; pork in caramel sauce; shrimps in red curry; Ho-mok… And let’s not forget the gourmet desserts with an Asian touch: black rice with lotus seeds and coconut milk; tapioca with coconut milk…
That day, I let myself be tempted by a Yuam Neua salad, in other words, a beef salad with lemongrass. The meat is warm, the salad crunchy.
Next, I choose chicken in curry sauce with glutinous rice. Again, very good. It explodes in the mouth.
Building on the success of the Khaosan Road restaurant, Thai food lovers Christophe Gaultier and Jean-François Quinquampois launched the first Thai foodtruck last September: “Thaï la route” by Khaosan on the Road. Freshness is a must, and the food is prepared on site by a real team of Thai cooks who perfectly combine spices, flavours and textures just like in Bangkok. The truck travels between the MK2 Bibliothèque, Puteaux and Levallois.
