A tour de force! With Mr & Mme Rêve, dance meets virtual reality for a stunning show in which the dancing excellence of Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault is magnified by technology specially developed by Dassault Systèmes, and by the music of Laurent Garnier. With Mr & Mme Rêve, Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault pay tribute to the father of “theater of the absurd” Eugène Ionesco, using 3D and digital technology to open the door to an unforgettable world of fantasy. The Pietragalla-Derouault company will be giving a dozen performances outside Paris, including on March 8 and 9 in Marseille and on March 12 in Grenoble. It’s the story of two imaginary beings who travel through time, fabricating their lives, dreaming of their love, and measuring themselves against reality for the space of an instant, that of an unusual and funny show that passes before our eyes at the speed of a shooting star…
Imagine dancing in the cosmos, swimming among words, watching rhinoceros choreography and discovering a strange yet familiar world…
You’ll want to know just who these 2 mysterious characters escaped from a giant’s brain are, and what their story is.
What if immersive virtual reality and the simulation technologies used daily in industry were to invent a new scenic language at the service of the imaginary?
It was to this question, whose answer lies at the crossroads of art, science and technology, that a team of passionate creative engineers from Dassault Systèmes set out to answer. In less than a year, together with Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault, they have created a new kind of show, allowing us to see and feel the virtual unreality of the imagination.
For the first time, projections on a 200m² surface create an immersive universe that reacts in symbiosis with the dancers.
