BURBERRY CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF ITS FLAGSHIP IN HONG KONG

“Hong Kong has this incredible energy and attitude that runs through it, and we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate that tonight at the opening of our new flagship on Pacific Place. It was great to bring together members of our Burberry family from near and far. It was a magical evening combining music, culture, British attitude and everything we love,”
Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Creative Director.

Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer, celebrated the opening of Burberry’s new flagship store in Hong Kong on Thursday November 1.

The event was attended by over 500 guests at the Pacific Place boutique, including English actress and Burberry Body muse Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Maggie Cheung, Huang Xiao Ming, Girl’s Generation band members Soo Young and Yuri, Joey Yung, Anthony Wong, Denise Ho, Edmond Leung, Shine, Kathy Chow, Ana Rivera, Du Juan, Wyman Wong and Hilary Tsui.

English musician Carl Barat and Chinese musician Khalil Fong both performed live on the night.

The event was broadcast live on giant screens set up outside the boutique. Inside, walls of video screens broadcast content from the evening in real time, including Instagram images.

This content was also streamed live across all the brand’s platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Sina Weibo, sharing the experience with all Burberry communities around the world.

The 2,000m² store is the brand’s largest in the Asia-Pacific region. It reflects the overall architectural concept for Burberry stores developed by Christopher Bailey, and features the brand’s first exterior crystal façade, a reference to Burberry’s iconic check.

The store blends the physical and the digital, taking its inspiration from the recently opened Burberry flagship on London’s Regent Street.
