French Cancan: the Spirit of Paris
The dancers in “French Cancan: The Spirit Of Paris” have taken us on a whirlwind tour of colors and cultures. Revisiting the basics of the genre, the eighteen dancers and five singers will set the stage of the Palace, temple of festivities, ablaze from January 17, 2013, for an hour and 40 minutes of exuberant, colorful entertainment, directed by Jacques Duparc.
Based on the theme of the five continents, the show takes us on a journey around the world and through time, to the rhythms of multiple genres. It’s a tribute to Offenbach in two acts and eight scenes as exotic as they are astonishing.
Eymeric François’s creations sublimate and enhance the body, subtly twisting codes to create a rendering at the crossroads of tradition and modernity.
