For the seventh year running, Montblanc has awarded the Prix Montblanc to the 27-year-old Hungarian cellist István Várdai. The prize was awarded by Lutz Bethge, CEO of Montblanc International, and the Prix Montblanc jury, including Professor Justus Frantz, Professor Li Biao, Dr. Jürgen Christ and star cellist Mischa Maisky. Following the ceremony, a concert was given by the Philharmonie des Nations, under the direction of Professor Justus Frantz and the gaze of the lovely Karolina Kurkova.

Montblanc, which has its roots in culture and writing, is committed; one of the projects supported by the House is the Philharmonia des Nations. It was founded in 1995 by Leonard Bernstein and Lord Yehudi Menuhin under the slogan “Let’s make music as friends”. This unconventional orchestra brings together talented young musicians from over 40 countries and five continents, and is led by its founder and conductor Professor Justus Frantz. In its quest for musical virtuosity and as a symbol of creative cooperation between nations and cultures, the orchestra conveys a message of peace and harmony, which can be understood all over the world.
