A tribute to aviation history Oris Challenge International de Tourisme 1932

The Swiss watch brand Oris launches a new aviation watch, the “Oris Challenge International de Tourisme 1932 Limited Edition”, in tribute to one of the most famous aeronautical competitions in history. Held between August 12 and 28, 1932, in Berlin, this was the third touring plane race organized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
Comprising technical events, a crossing of Europe and a maximum speed test, the race was won by a Polish crew consisting of pilot Franciszek Żwirko and his mechanic Stanisław Wigura, aboard their RWD-6 aircraft, specially developed for the event. This resounding
victory made them true national heroes.
Oris commemorates this triumph by launching the “Challenge International de Tourisme 1932 Limited Edition” watch. Inspired by the Big Crown collection, this new timepiece features the famous knurled bezel that distinguishes Oris models dedicated to aviation. In a nod to the starting number of the RWD-6 aircraft in the
race, the counterweight of the central seconds hand is decorated with the number 06. Limited to 1932 pieces, the Oris Challenge International de Tourisme 1932 is presented in a magnificent box,
accompanied by a Zippo lighter, another icon from 1932.
A stylish tribute to a feat that has gone down in aviation legend.
