Sunday, April 29, 6:30 p.m. The Jury, chaired by Yohji Yamamoto, has chosen:
Ragne Kikas, a young Estonian designer based in Hamburg (Germany), winner of the Première Vision Prize, one of the four prizes awarded as part of the Fashion Competition at the Hyères International Fashion & Photography Festival. Ragne Kikas was also awarded the Prix du Public & de la Ville d’Hyères.

One of ten finalists, Ragne Kikas offers her vision of radicalism: her collection is inspired by 15th and 16th century armor, whose hard, angular forms she translates into knitwear, her preferred technique.
Each silhouette must be a new, sculptural enigma, at once obvious and impenetrable.
Her collection was produced with the support of exhibitors at Première Vision, ModAmont and Expofil:
Close to Clothes, Eclair Prym Belgium S.A., and Tearfil Textile Yarns.
For the second year running, Première Vision, the world’s leading trade show for apparel fabrics, is partnering the Festival d’Hyères and sponsoring one of its Awards. Valued at 10,000 euros, the Prix Première Vision does more than simply award a grant to the winning young designer.
Première Vision, whose vocation is to strengthen contacts between the most creative players in the industry, is fully committed to this operation to support young talent and build a long-term relationship.
In the run-up to the Prix, Première Vision gave a special welcome to the ten finalists at the February 2012 show. This enabled the young designers to establish direct contacts with exhibiting spinners, weavers and accessory manufacturers.
On July 11 and 12, at Première Vision Preview New York, Ragne Kikas is invited to present her work to the North American press and fashion industry.
Next stop, Paris: Ragne Kikas, as part of Première Vision Pluriel (September 19-21, 2012), will take part in the PV Awards, for which she will be one of the members of the Jury on September 21.
It will also be an opportunity to present his work to the 55,000 professionals from over 100 countries who visit Première Vision Pluriel each season.
