After 2 years without an album, Jean-Louis Murat returns with Grand Lièvre. Murat is a craftsman, and he loves a job well done. This new opus proves to be an excellent vintage!
Recorded in just a few days in the South of France, the album sounds as if it had been captured under live conditions. Ten tracks of magnificent music and lyrics, with themes dear to the author’s heart: nature, the derision of the human condition, doubt, love and solitude. But here they’re magnified, shimmering with swirling melodies that are both familiar and surprising, embellished with rustles, sound effects and mysterious dialogues, and – a Muratian novelty – hypnotic, luminous backing vocals. For this album, Jean-Louis Murat called on friends Fred Jimenez and Stéphane Reynaud, faithful among the faithful. Pianist Slim Batteux is also part of the adventure.
Murat at the peak of his art, intimate and immediate, secret and universal. To be enjoyed with big ears!
