Hublot becomes first Official Timekeeper of the Los Angeles Lakers!

Ricardo Guadalupe – CEO of Hublot – presented the official Lakers clock to Jeanie Buss to Jeanie Buss, Los Angeles Lakers Executive Vice-President, Commercial Operations, during the pre-game ceremony.

Last night, Ricardo Guadalupe – CEO of Hublot – was on the floor of the Staples Center to present Jeanie Buss, Executive Vice-President, Commercial Operations, with the official Lakers clock, symbolizing the new partnership that makes the Swiss luxury watch brand the Official Timekeeper of the legendary NBA team.

With 16 NBA titles to their credit, the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the legendary franchises of American basketball and one of the most popular teams in the world. In the heart of the City of Angels, a Lakers game brings together basketball, fashion, celebrity, luxury and enthusiasm. With Hublot now Official Timekeeper of the Los Angeles Lakers, the City of Angels won’t miss a moment of the event!

As Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe points out: “Signing with a team as legendary as the Lakers seemed only natural. The team joins our platform of iconic partnerships which already includes Manchester United, FIFA and Usain Bolt to name but a few. The Lakers have played a phenomenal role in bringing international stature to basketball. And with players like Kobe Bryant setting the tone with such tenacity and determination, it was only natural. We look forward to working with them and are thrilled to unite our two families.”

“The Lakers are excited to partner with Hublot, a luxury brand known for its exceptional dynamism, a symbol of the unique alliance between tradition and modernity,” explains Tim Harris, Vice President Marketing and Commercial Operations. Likethe Lakers, Hublot takes great pride in its pursuit of excellence, and values its place as a champion in its environment. It’s a perfect partner for us.”

And Jean-Claude Biver, president of Hublot, added: “Like Hublot, the Lakers are built on a solid foundation, have a charitable impact and smart team leadership that make this partnership a win-win!!!”

In 2010, Hublot announced its first partnership with an American basketball team, when the luxury watch brand added the Miami HEAT to its international portfolio, shortly after signing star and trendsetter Captain Dwyane Wade. In 2012, Hublot is present for the opening of the Barclays Center, the new stronghold of the Brooklyn Nets, adding New York to its American list of achievements. With the Los Angeles Lakers, the brand signs its second official partnership with an American basketball team, consolidating its presence and development in Los Angeles.
