THE CARESS OF THE DRAGON
Andrés Sardá, in collaboration with actress Rossy de Palma, presents the Rossy collection. A creative adventure in which the dragon silhouette is the source of inspiration for a unique series created for the Autumn-Winter 2011-2012 season.
The project, which will be presented in Paris on May 26, was born almost a year ago, when Nuria Sardá and the famous actress began thinking about the collection: “It was a privilege for us to work with Rossy de Palma,” comments Nuria Sardá. The result is an inimitable limited edition that pays tribute to contemporary femininity. A lingerie collection conceived a deuz, between Nuria and Rossy, whose main theme is the tattoo that the artist sports on the inside of her right arm. A “protective talisman”, in Rossy de Palma’s words, which transmits its magnetism to the garments that make up this harmonious universe. A collection of delicate lingerie pieces, designed to highlight the magic and sensuality that every woman carries within her.
“Each of these pieces has been designed to veil certain parts of the body and reveal others,” explains Nuria Sardá. The design, as well as the materials, have made it possible to realize this dream: to create luxury lingerie that emphasizes the body’s forms, made possible by LYCRA® fiber, which has the particularity of being able to combine the transparency of the fabric with the power to shape the silhouette, with tact and delicacy. The result is magical.
The sinuous silhouette of the dragon embraces and caresses the body, this intimate universe. With the bodysuit, we imagine this fantastic animal as a mysterious tattoo merging with feminine curves.
Here’s an interview conducted on the occasion of his visit to Paris.
OBJECT OF SEDUCTION
The playful aspect is a key element of the project. Designed to be combined according to the wearer’s imagination, creativity and mood, “the collection is an invitation to seduction”, according to Rossy de Palma. An exercise in style for which lingerie offers infinite possibilities.
The bodysuit, the centerpiece of the series, can be worn with or without the soft, light, transparent bra, whose cups have been decorated with crystals, and with its tanga panties. The latter, combined with the bra, offers a completely different, and by no means less attractive, option which, if the imagination leads the way, can be completed with a fringed skirt whose waist is adjusted with a soft silk lace.
Some fearsomely sensual female myths, such as Marlene Dietrich, were a real source of inspiration for Rossy de Palma’s collection, in which she nods to the aesthetics and glamour of 1950s pin-ups. “I wanted to create something sexy and practical at the same time, but above all I wanted all those women who like to play with the complicity of lingerie to be able to wear it”.
The collection also includes a line of sheer garments with elastic silk edgings designed to follow feminine curves while enhancing them at the same time. The lines are clearly retro-inspired, recapturing the style of the Fifties and, for some pieces, that of the Sixties. The collection is available in two colors: black and amethyst. The dragon is transformed into a jewel that decorates and shapes the various pieces according to the wearer’s imagination. Like an object of desire, its sinuous shapes adapt to different garments: shiny silver for the black option and luminous gold for the amethyst option. The result is a collection that, like the dragon, possesses a singular beauty and speaks the language of seduction with powerful hypnotic power.
