The Mandarin Oriental hotel group has just announced the opening of its first establishment in France: Mandarin Oriental, Paris will open its doors on June 28, 2011 at 251 rue Saint-Honoré in the capital’s first arrondissement.
Mandarin Oriental, Paris offers a unique setting where luxury rhymes with pleasure, an elegant and welcoming place that evokes Paris in all its richness and diversity. The hotel brings together leading international names in architecture and design. Architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte oversaw the renovation of the building, its façade and patio. Sybille de Margerie designed the interior architecture and decoration of the rooms, spa and public areas, while Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku designed the bar and restaurants.
A modern palace with Art Deco-inspired architecture, the style of the Mandarin Oriental, Paris is rooted in the richness, modernity and creativity of the 1930s, as well as in the hallmarks of Parisian luxury and fashion. Once through the porch, the visitor enters a majestic lobby and discovers a preserved jewel case hidden from view.
Mandarin Oriental, Paris offers 138 of the most spacious luxury rooms and suites in Paris, and a large, oriental-inspired interior garden designed by Wilmotte & Associés, in collaboration with landscape architects François Neveux and Bernard Rouyer.
On the food and beverage front, the hotel boasts a choice of two restaurants and bars designed by Thierry Marx: Sur Mesure by Thierry Marx, a 44-cover gourmet restaurant, designed as a hushed, haute-couture setting with a skylight; Camélia, a restaurant with simple, accessible cuisine, offering 70 covers inside and 25 covers in the hotel’s inner garden all day long, under an open sky, and a counter offering live cooking all day long (10 covers); Bar 8 with 49 covers inside and 25 covers in the hotel’s inner garden; a Pastry Counter and La Table du Jardin, seating 6 to 8 guests for an exceptional moment.
In a peaceful setting, the 900m² Spa offers holistic treatments to promote relaxation and well-being, with programs exclusive to Mandarin Oriental: wellness and beauty treatments, sculpting… Open to all, the Spa features seven private suites, each equipped for treatments combining hydrotherapy and heat sources, a large indoor pool and a fitness center. Elegant, state-of-the-art facilities are also available for meetings and private events.
