Maison Pierre Cardin presents 59 designs for spring-summer 2027, under the artistic direction of Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin. It pairs recycled fabrics with dormant stock dated from 1970 to 2010.
The collection, which the house calls “prêt-à-vivre”, comprises 59 designs. It starts from the world of sportswear, moves through the everyday wardrobe and reaches the evening dress. Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin spells out the intention: a fashion that is free, functional and responsible, based on movement, comfort and durability.
The most precise fact concerns the material. The recycled fabrics and dormant stock used span forty years, from the 1970s to the 2010s. The house presents this choice as an approach linking the past, experimentation and the relationship to the body.
The silhouette is described as a supple architecture in motion: ample, enveloping volumes, circles, curves and contrasts, which according to the house form a new graphic language. The house, founded in 1950, is based at 59 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.
The interest of the subject lies in this use of old stock. The quality of the pieces will be judged on the garments themselves, and no recommendation can precede that judgment.
