DKNY entrusts New York to two faces that echo each other

DKNY has always built its identity on a simple equation: New York as muse, street energy as grammar. For its Fall 2026 campaign, the brand entrusts this role to two faces that resemble each other without copying one another — Iris Law and Amelia Gray, brought together under the creative direction of Trey Laird and through the lens of Mikael Jansson, in a setup conceived as a play of mirrors rather than simply a pair of models.

The campaign’s premise lies in what the press release calls ‘dualities’: the two models take turns wearing the same pieces — a striped minidress, an animal-print faux-fur coat — to show that the same garment can tell two different stories depending on who wears it. ‘It was about complementary energy, and how we could embody different facets of that New York energy,’ Iris Law sums up. Amelia Gray, in her second campaign for the brand, speaks of ‘a dual expression of personal style’.

In terms of clothing, the collection stays true to the house codes: a monochrome palette nodding to the skyline, structured waistcoats and blazers that play with masculine and feminine codes, a vegan-leather bomber jacket worn over raw denim. The Rivington and Bryar bags, recognisable by their belt and pocket details, complete looks designed for moving around rather than posing.

What sets this campaign apart from a purely aesthetic exercise in style is the way it treats clothing as a shared language to be interpreted rather than a uniform to be reproduced. Two personalities, one wardrobe: the idea is not new in the history of fashion advertising, but it takes on particular relevance here at a time when brands are seeking, more than ever, to demonstrate the real versatility of their collections rather than their photogenic appeal alone.

Available from September 1 on DKNY.com and at selected retailers, the collection continues the story of a brand that, since 1989, has never really left its founding city — even if that means reinventing it each season through new faces, without ever giving up the attitude that has defined it from the outset.
