In the heart of Porto-Vecchio, facing the iconic church steeple, Hôtel Moderne, the town’s oldest hotel dating back to 1945, has undergone a spectacular renaissance. History and Heritage:
Founded on the values of hard work and friendship, Hôtel Moderne was acquired in 1988 by the father of the current directors, marking the beginning of a new era for the establishment. Temporarily closed in 2004, it reopened as a family business in 2007. In 2019, an ambitious refurbishment project was launched, respecting the original architecture while modernizing the interiors to meet contemporary standards of comfort and safety. The façade has been restored to highlight the original granite, and the interiors have been completely renovated.
Concept and Design:
L’Hôtel Moderne now offers fifteen rooms, including one suite, all decorated in a clean, minimalist style, reflecting a Japanese aesthetic that favors raw, organic materials. The rooms are designed to maximize space and light, offering a luxurious yet comfortable experience for guests.
Environmental Commitment:
Committed to sustainability, the Tubiana sisters have incorporated eco-responsible practices despite the architectural challenges of a historic building. This includes reducing the use of single-use plastics, adopting energy-saving solutions and promoting local and bulk produce to minimize environmental impact.
