After designing the luxurious OPERA PRIMA perfume bottle, true to its philosophy of excellence, Bvlgari Parfums has created L’OPERA GRANDIOSA, a unique olfactory masterpiece that celebrates Bvlgari’s extraordinary expertise in Haute Joaillerie, as well as the traditional art of Venetian glass.
With its jewel-like bottle handcrafted in Murano glass by Fornace Mian – one of the world’s most famous glassmakers on the island of Murano in Venice – and lavishly adorned with gold and colored gems by the expert craftsmen of Bvlgari’s Haute Joaillerie workshop in Rome, L’OPERA GRANDIOSA symbolizes all the luxury of Italian craftsmanship and its values of excellence.
AN EXCEPTIONAL CREATION THAT TRANSPORTS US TO VENICE
Paying homage to Venetian heritage and its glassmaking tradition, Bvlgari embarks on a new journey with L’OPERA GRANDIOSA.
It all starts with inspiration: Fornace Mian craftsmen blow into a long pipe to form a glass bubble, creating a complex balancing act between fire, the artist’s vision and the very nature of the raw material. The sbruffo technique is then essential for the introduction of color: the craftsman blows several layers of glass, working on different shades, transparencies and consistencies. For Bvlgari, gemstones must be cut, shaped and polished to the purest essence and most vibrant brilliance. In the same way, the master glassmaker creates a unique piece by adding layers of color: thanks to his artistic skill, he obtains an intense, luminous and rich nuance reminiscent of Bvlgari’s jewelry creations. With its magnificent strata of color, the mouth-blown bottle captures the hue of an intense amethyst.
The inscription “1/1” on the base of the bottle indicates that this glass creation is unique – like a true work of art.
TOWARDS ROME, IN BVLGARI’S HAUTE JOAILLERIE WORKSHOP
After Venice, the Gem Route takes us to Rome, the cradle of Bvlgari and a perpetual source of inspiration. With its exceptional level of culture, vision, color, extravagance, effervescence and unparalleled sense of beauty, the Eternal City is the very essence of Bvlgari’s bold creativity.
It is in the Haute Joaillerie workshop in Rome that Bvlgari’s expert craftsmen give birth to the most intricate one-off creations. This is also where the details and cap of the L’OPERA GRANDIOSA bottle are carefully crafted fromrose gold and colored gems.
To create the precious necklace that adorns the bottle’s collar, Bvlgari chose 18 ct rose gold and some of its favorite gems. Sensual and intricate, the motif is composed of hexagonal gold scales, evocative of the iconic Serpenti design, meticulously set with rubellites (5.39 ct),amethysts (4.86 ct) and citrines (4.56 ct).
This rainbow of gemstones is topped by a spectacular 2.485-carat smooth, voluptuous spherical malachite , reminiscent of Bvlgari’s signature cabochon cut. A sublime finishing touch to this luxurious piece, the BVLGARI logo engraved on the neck of the bottle is bordered on each side by a brilliant-cut diamond . A combination of vibrant gems, selected and matched with audacity and exuberance: Bvlgari’s jewelry creation is once again based on a striking superposition of colors and the House’s ability to take on new and ever more ambitious challenges.
This piece of jewelry requires over 250 hours of work by a single craftsman. The result is priceless, because nothing is more precious than a piece that is unique in the world.
A MAGNIFICENT OLFACTORY SIGNATURE REMINISCENT OF A
IMPERIAL GARDEN
Dressed in a precious bottle made in Venice and Rome, the perfume is also composed like a jewel by the famous master perfumer, Daniela Andrier. Bvlgari Le Gemme Imperiali Desiria is a luxurious Eau de Parfum that opens the doors to an idyllic, dreamlike world. Bewitching magnolia unleashes its seductive power with a subtle touch of rose petals, while a captivating musk accord reveals the fragrance’s irresistible, sumptuous character. A stroll through an imperial garden, under the spell of elegant, sensual flowers, where floral magnetism gives free rein to the imagination.
Paying particular attention to the quality of “nature’s treasures”, master perfumer Daniela Andrier has imagined the fragrance as a jewel, transforming the most precious natural ingredients into a sublime scent.
