Womenswear – Pre Fall 2020
Inspiration
British art nouveau and craftsmanship, the understated elegance of modernism: sinuous iris, proud thistle and Glasgow rose. The windswept earth and landscapes of the North have been laid bare. The heart of the earth and the treasures hidden beneath its surface. Metallic minerals: rich seams of gold, silver and copper everywhere. Mineralogy: crystal, agate, flint, rock; opaque and sculptural on the outside, jewel-like and reflective on the inside. The juxtaposition between sobriety and seduction, the raw and the refined, the textured and the smooth, light and dark, all contrast with the handwriting of the House of Alexander McQueen.
