Dior Homme presents the black carpet collection, a new evening wear collection imagined by Kris van Assche for spring 2017.
“The idea of the black carpet collection is to inject the energy and rebellious attitude of the catwalk collection into an evening wear capsule collection that plays with the codes and savoir-faire of the house of dior. rework the suit by proposing more extreme interpretations.”

Lightweight wool jackets are offered in houndstooth or prince of Wales, two noble motifs contrasted by the graphic effect of paint stains inlaid in jacquard or applied to sequins in the form of flocked velvet. This motif is repeated in tone-on-tone on black or white cotton shirts. The black carpet collection also features a number of astonishing techniques, such as an ultra-crumpled effect on white or black cotton shirts, an edging treated as a clean edge, or a scar that lacerates the satin lapels of smocking jackets while revealing handmade embroidery. each model reveals the atelier’s meticulous know-how and attention to the smallest detail, while taking on a more raw, unruly effect.
