Luminous, tender, creamy… Francis Kurkdjian has chosen an Indian sandalwood fragrance of finesse and roundness to evoke Elie Saab’s sensual art of curves. An essence revered for millennia. All the more precious as the Santalum Album species from which it is derived is now protected in India.
Inspired by the way Elie Saab virtuosically sculpts the volumes of his creations, the master perfumer supports the silky olfactory fabric of Sandalwood with notes of assertive character. As soon as it takes flight, the radiant freshness of Cardamom makes it quiver. In the heart, Chinese Osmanthus – a velvety flower with a scent reminiscent of apricot and suede – enriches the creamy facets of Sandalwood with a luscious fruity note.
To the unctuous sweetness of this accord of Sandalwood and Osmanthus, the woody notes that run through the composition offer a powerful contrast. Fine, sharp and clean as a pencil line, Virginia Cedar combines with Haitian Vetiver, rounder and softer, and Java Vetiver, drier and smokier, to structure this very signature trail.
Between strength and roundness, ESSENCE N°8 SANTAL is an olfactory silhouette of rare elegance, a tribute to the most sensual of woods.
