A short while ago, we discovered a Caviar de Neuvic. A Caviar factory that respects the environment and has strong values. So we’re delighted to tell you all about it today.
In three years, Laurent Deverlanges has succeeded in building an environmentally-friendly fish farm, producing top-quality caviar and launching his own brand, Caviar de Neuvic.
Quite a feat for this food engineer, whose product is already being exported to Bahrain, Japan and Hong Kong.
High-quality production and sharp marketing quickly won over institutional investors, who share Laurent Deverlanges’ enthusiasm for this ambitious project.
France, 3rd largest caviar producer in the world
Since 2006, only farmed caviar has been marketed, the wild sturgeon having become, with the Soviet Union aiming to restore the species in the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, that the control of sturgeon reproduction was shared with French breeders. The first breeding farms appeared in Aquitaine, giving France a head start over other countries in caviar production.
Since then, with 23 tons of caviar produced every year, France has become the 3rd largest producer in the world, behind China and Italy, with a product renowned for its excellent quality. Nowadays, caviar no longer comes only from Russia, Kazakhstan or Iran, and caviar lovers prefer the quality of French caviar, particularly from Aquitaine, where 90% of production comes from.
Caviar de Neuvic, already a brand that counts
It’s on the Domaine Huso in Aquitaine, chosen by Laurent Deverlanges to set up his fish farm, that Caviar de Neuvic is produced, not far from the village whose name it bears. Situated on the land of an old pre-revolutionary farm, it extends over 20 hectares in the heart of the village.
From the outset, the estate has focused on high-quality production, and initially supplied several brands. It was after this initial success that Laurent Deverlanges decided to launch his own label, Caviar de Neuvic, in 2013. He devotes 40% of his
From a few hundred kilos achieved in 2012, Domaine Huso will produce over 2 tons of caviar in 2014 and up to 6 tons in 2018. The company is growing rapidly, and via the online store www.caviardeneuvic.com
Although 90% of its production is currently sold on the French market, export sales are increasingly important, and efforts to penetrate new countries are significant.
The brand relies on the quality of its products, its marketing and its capacity for innovation to win over new consumers, with exclusive references such as caviar butter, a real commercial success.

CAVIAR BUTTER. Exclusive to Caviar de Neuvic. Another way to enjoy Caviar de Neuvic: original, creative and convivial.
Caviar Butter is an exclusive, original recipe developed by Caviar de Neuvic. As an aperitif, serve with Champagne toast or a glass of white Burgundy. Presented on “mouillettes”, it’s the perfect accompaniment to oysters or rooster eggs. A line of caviar butter spread Viennese-style will give it an exceptional taste and a festive air.
TASTING BOX. Like a caviar cellar.
Caviar de Neuvic’s exclusive gift box not only makes an elegant gift, but also preserves the freshness of the caviar.
This very “couture” box conceals a small freshness pocket underneath the inner packaging: it allows the caviar to be transported while perfectly protecting the product for around two hours, as well as being presented and served directly in the box.
