NYC Skyline. Black And White.

September 10 marks the kick-off of Spring-Summer 2016 Fashion Week, during which the ready-to-wear collections are presented. The marathon begins in New York, then invades London (which grows in renown every year) and Milan, before ending in Paris with the big names on everyone’s lips: Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent.

A few changes this year: the Givenchy show leaves Paris to coincide with the opening of a boutique on Madison Avenue. It will take place on September 11 and will be open to the general public. New York fashion shows have traditionally taken place in a single location: the Mercedes Benz tent. No longer a partner of the event (since 2009), this year the shows will be split between Moynihan Station in Midtown and Skylight Clarckson Square in Tribeca.

New York is home to Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors…

Wes Gordon, Jason Wu and Givenchy take place on the 11th. On the 12th, we’re expecting Lacoste, Jill Stuart, Alexander Wang and Herve Léger. It’s up to you to discover the future big names, the innovative labels, the up-and-coming houses, the new artistic directors, the brands that are going downhill…A complete calendar is available: http://newyorkfashionweeklive.com/schedule

The tide turns, and every season is full of surprises, moments that will make tomorrow’s legends. Even if New York Fashion Week seems to have lost its piquancy and flair for new talent, it remains the city that never sleeps.

I’ll spare you the French version by Mireille Mathieu… Have a good marathon!
