Ever since she exploded onto the international scene in 2007, Rihanna has never ceased to be scrutinized: by fans, paparazzi, pop singers, blinged-out rappers, designers, fashion photographers and even umbrella makers (“You can stay under my umbrella” she sang in 2008). Yet no one seems to tire of the beauty. A true chameleon, it’s a challenge to decipher the singer’s looks.

Long and straight, short and platinum, plunging red bob: she seems to have tried every possible combination, more than a hairdresser can see in a career. Coveted by the greatest designers (Dior campaign, Balmain), it’s not uncommon to see her sitting on the front row of catwalks, the seats of the fashion world’s most prestigious influencers. Whether she’s wearing a figure-hugging, half-sheer evening gown, or a camouflage jogging suit and parka, Rihanna dares to set the tone for the season with her total looks. Each of her outings is like an apparition: which look? which Rihanna?

Trend follower or true designer muse: the mystery remains, and the answer can’t be so clear-cut. A happy medium, no doubt. Be that as it may, so many eyes on a 27-year-old singer is not meaningless. Rihanna is like the projector of current trends, and the initiator of trends to come.

Inimitable? Undoubtedly, it’s up to everyone to adopt a part of their style to match their daily wardrobe. In recent weeks, the singer seems to have adopted the “Type C jeans” from the Raw For the Oceans collection, designed by her friend Pharrell Williams for the famous jeans brand G-Star.

A collection that’s committed to protecting the environment (made from recycled plastic), several pieces in the latest Spring/Summer 2015 collection are already classics. This season, denim is combined in every possible way: dresses, shirts, skirts. Denim is making a comeback. So, like Rihanna, opt for a good pair of jeans to create minimalist looks in summer tones. With white sneakers and a cap for a sporty look, or with espadrilles (the shoes of summer, seen on many stars and bloggers), “Type C” jeans can be worn in all circumstances and at all rhythms!
