Svetlana Kushnerova AW 2015/16 from NEWKIDPROD on Vimeo.
A springtime collection of sculptural dresses where flowers escape and bangs dot the classic little black dresses. Presented at Espace Pierre Cardin, the long, wispy dresses and cloudy cocktail models come in candy and pastel shades, but there’s nothing candid about this candy collection. The garments oscillate between sculpture and jewelry. Flowers are more than simple motifs, they build the volumes of the dresses. Crocheted lace and knitwear are not mere ornaments: they shape the silhouettes, as do the leathers.
Fringes are a leitmotif: whether working with fur or orgenza, they bring a touch of modernism to classic designs. Fur coats meet the mysteries of the West with long fringed models. This model is further proof of the designer’s technical knowledge of materials. A tribute to haute couture savoir-faire.
A 3D collection, with acidulous colors, defying all expectations, this is a romantic woman who doesn’t let herself be surprised by fairy tales. The Svetlana Kushnerova woman has freed herself. Hoopskirts are no longer worn under dresses: they stand on their own. There’s no need to pretend, even if heels, from the designer’s new shoe line, are still an effective way to lift the silhouette.
A “winter flower” presented in an ice-free summer. A woman who knows the classics but doesn’t hesitate to defy convention.
