It was curiosity that led us to accept the invitation from the brand
Infiniti
(one of our co-partners at the Salon du Luxe) to discover the new design of the Q70 model.
Infiniti , the Renault-Nissan Group’s premium brand, aims to be the alternative to German sedans in the high-end segment. So we set off to meet their flagship model, the Q70, and its new design.
Our test took place in the PACA region, under the theme of theInfiniti Summer Experience.
First contact was made in Marseille. The various models in the range were waiting for us, and it was with some impatience that we climbed aboard.
INFINITI Q70 MEETS LUXSURE.FR
It all began with an eye-to-eye confrontation, machines and men sizing each other up.
The first thing that struck us was the look in the headlights, a piercing, vivid gaze, like a preview of the surprises the car has in store for us on the road.
After a great deal of circling, it’s time to hit the road, heading for the Chateau de Cassis.
TheInfiniti Summer Experience begins, and we’re treated to the full Infiniti lifestyle.
Starting with the silver-sanded Japanese ash wood dashboard (tested Q70s) and the Mercedes Benz engine, which is fully integrated into the car’s chassis. The power so appreciated on the freeway is transformed into fine agility in town, a considerable advantage for a sedan in this class. Infiniti not only has the pretensions of its ambitions, but also gives itself the means to achieve them.

Pretension isn’t crazy, but it does demand deep commitment. To prove it to us, Infiniti goes so far as to let us experience its complete lifestyle. After sailing between Cassis and Bandol aboard a Fjord 40 open and jet-skiing at sea, we returned to our cars and it was at this precise moment that the seduction took place.
Intoxicated by sunshine, magnificent landscapes and strong nautical sensations, nothing seemed more natural to us than to return to dry land and our Infiniti Q70.
DESIGN AND DRIVING PLEASURE
A beautiful car, of course, but that’s not all. Being seduced by a car’s design is a very good thing. The re-styling of the Q70 makes it even more accessible, especially for a European eye accustomed to codes quite different from those prized across the Atlantic.
Infiniti’ s structure is a bridge between America, Europe and Asia (we’re not surprised by its success in Russia).
In terms of on-board technology, everything is done to support the driver, without ever being too intrusive. From electronic steering, to Forward Collision Prevention, which analyzes the driving conditions of the 2 vehicles in front of you, and the indispensable approach cameras.
