Over the past few months, the wheels have been in motion for Faustine Steinmetz. Visits from influential buyers, press articles, finalist for the 2015 LVMH Prize, this 29-year-old London-based Frenchwoman has become the young designer to watch. A graduate of Atelier Chardon Savard and the renowned St Martins School, she has been making denim patchworks since the age of 13. Denim became her obsession, which she reworked by hand, with the help of old weaving machines, or on the contrary in a completely high-tech way, through digitally printed patterns. The result, somewhere between tradition and innovation, is completely breathtaking yet wearable. A pleasant and sincere encounter with a self-disclosing designer.
